ROLE OVERVIEW The Sales Hunter is a mid-level position focused on spearheading new business development and achieving sales targets. This role entails identifying prospective clients, cultivating relationships, and providing tailored logistics solutions. The Sales Hunter will need to travel within the dedicated region to meet clients and prospects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: New Business Development: • Identify and target potential clients within the logistics and freight forwarding sectors. • Develop and execute strategies to acquire new business and expand market presence. • Conduct cold calls, attend industry events, and utilize other methods to generate leads. Client Relationship Management: • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and potential clients. • Understand clients' logistics needs and tailor solutions to address those needs effectively. • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction. • Develop strategies to ensure client retention and repeat business. Sales Target Achievement: • Meet and exceed quarterly sales targets with a focus on a required quarterly profit. • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients, ensuring consistent follow-up and conversion.• Provide accurate sales forecasts and pipeline management to support business planning. Market and Industry Research: • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities. • Use market insights to identify opportunities for growth and refine sales strategies. • Regularly analyze competitors' offerings and market positioning to inform strategic decisions. Proposal Development and Presentation: • Prepare and deliver detailed proposals and presentations to potential clients. • Demonstrate the value of In Line Freight Solutions' services and address client questions or concerns. • Employ solution-selling techniques to customize proposals based on client-specific needs. Collaboration and Coordination: • Work closely with the operations and logistics teams to ensure the seamless onboarding of new clients. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sales strategies with company objectives. • Coordinate with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to align efforts and maximize client satisfaction. Reporting and Documentation: • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline status. • Report on sales performance, progress towards targets, and market feedback to management. • Utilize tools and sales analytics to track performance and identify areas for improvement. MIN REQUIREMENTS • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of proven sales experience in the logistics, freight forwarding, or related industry. • Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders. • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the logistics and freight forwarding industry, including international shipping and customs processes. • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) for tracking sales activities and managing client relationships. • Microsoft Office: Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting, presentations, and data analysis. • Self-motivation: Highly motivated and target-driven with a proactive approach to sales and business development. • Networking Skills: Demonstrated ability to build and leverage a network within the logistics and freight forwarding industry. • Education: Relevant degree or diploma in Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred. • Additional Requirements: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. COMPENSATION • Cost to Company (CTC): R45,000 per month. • Commission structure based on reaching target as per KPI • Commission capped at R1 million per annum COMPANY BENEFITS • Pension fund contribution: 5% of basic salary. • Medical insurance: R480 contribution. • Travel allowance, Vehicle allowance, Cell phone Allowance. • Annual Leave: 1.25 per month.MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS • Refer to the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) • Labour Relations Act (LRA) WORKING REQUIREMENTS • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. • Probation Period: 3 months. PERFORMANCE METRICS • Sales Target Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed quarterly sales targets and qualify for commissions. • New Client Acquisition & Revenue Growth: Track the number of new clients acquired and the revenue generated from new business. • Client Relationship Quality: Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and maintain strong, effective relationships.• Sales Reporting Accuracy: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of sales activities and reports. PERFORMANCE OUTPUT Daily Metrics 1. Number of Calls/Emails: Track the number of outreach attempts made. 2. Follow-ups: Monitor the follow-up activities with potential leads. 3. New Leads Generated: Count the number of new leads identified. 4. Meetings Scheduled: Note the number of meetings or demos scheduled. Weekly Metrics 1. Pipeline Growth: Measure the increase in the sales pipeline. 2. Conversion Rate: Track the percentage of leads converted to opportunities. 3. Client Interactions: Count the number of meaningful interactions with clients. 4. Proposals Sent: Monitor the number of proposals or quotes sent out. Monthly Metrics 1. Sales Closed: Measure the total sales closed. 2. Revenue Generated: Track the revenue generated from closed deals. 3. Quota Attainment: Compare actual sales against the set targets or quotas. 4. Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC): Calculate the cost of acquiring new customers. 5. Sales Cycle Length: Measure the average time taken to close a deal
