Sales Assistant - Plumbing Department (Blackheath)

Department: Plumbing
Reporting to: Department Supervisor
Purpose: To assist customers by helping them choose a product that is best suitable for their needs, ensuring customer satisfaction and generating sales to promote business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attend to customers in a professional and helpful manner.
Generate more sales and ensure customer satisfaction by providing excellent customer service.
Control stock levels and conduct regular stock counts.
Advise customers on products that best solve their problems.
Place stock orders with buyers if necessary.
Attend to relevant admin tasks including upkeep of customer books, special orders file, and forwarding invoices.
Ensure proper merchandising and correct pricing of products.
Participate in perpetual stock takes.
Ensure good housekeeping of the work area.
Perform any work-related tasks as delegated by a superior.

REQUIREMENTS:

Matric or Equivalent.
Minimum 2 years experience in a Hardware environment.
Basic product exposure (must have spent at least 2 years with Plumbing products).
2 x Department Product Knowledge Certificates.
Natural sales flair.
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written).
