Position OverviewMEA Projects, a Division of Howden Africa (Pty) Ltd, is looking for an experienced Applications Engineer to focus on business development for Howden's/Chart Industries' range of compression solutions within wastewater, Oil & Gas, petrochemical, and industrial sectors. This dual-focus position combines business development and sales with process and project engineering responsibilities.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…Business Development: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.Engage in consultative sales to understand client needs and recommend appropriate compression solutions.Proposals and Tendering: Prepare detailed tenders and proposals for clients.Lead and supply direct engineering input to high-profile tenders.Coordinate tenders, engineering, and design work with local and global business units.Create accurate, organized, and detailed costing of proposed systems.Provide detailed technical presentations to clients.Negotiate conditions of contract and commercial terms.Technical Design and Engineering: Process and Mechanical Engineering Design, including development of P&IDs, PFDs, mechanical designs.Generate process descriptions, control philosophies, and functional design specifications.Commission new plants to ensure they meet customer expectations.Ensure implementation of company standards and industry codes in all designs.Generate feasibility design reports.Your Education Should Be…Tertiary qualification in Engineering, preferably a B.Eng degree (Mechanical or Chemical).
Your Professional Experience Should Be…Strong knowledge of thermodynamic principles with mass and energy balance calculations.Strong background and knowledge of compression systems.Strategic approach to business opportunities.Exposure in high-value Turnkey multi-disciplinary projects is advantageous.Familiarity with international standards, codes, and specifications (ASME, API, TEMA, etc.) is an advantage.Willingness to learn from subject experts and document knowledge.Willing to travel (+20% of the time).Willing to work towards professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng). 7 Years+ experience required.Chart is an equal opportunity employer...Need an Accommodation...If you need accommodation with your job application or recruitment process, let us know!
