Purpose of the Job
This role is 80% office based and 20% in field. The function of the account representative is to primarily be the point of contact for Transpharms' largest customers to ensure business continuity and to attain new customers in an allocated geographical area.
As an Accounts Representative at Transpharm, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and building lasting relationships with our valued customers within a specific market segment. Leveraging your analytical skills, industry knowledge, and familiarity with the pharmaceutical sector, you will identify and capitalize on sales opportunities, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
The remuneration is based on a basic salary plus monthly commission linked to performance targets
Job Objectives
Customer Relationship Management:
Develop and nurture strong, long-term relationships with customers.
Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and effectively.
Build trust and loyalty through personalized interactions and tailored solutions.
Sales and Service:
Identify and pursue sales opportunities proactively.
Effectively communicate product benefits and value propositions to customers.
Market Analysis:
Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges within your assigned market segment.
Analyse customer data to gain insights into purchasing behaviour and preferences.
Track trends and monitor current sales to ensure growth in current customer base
Business Development:
Develop and implement targeted sales initiatives to increase customer acquisition, retention, and spend.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding our customer base.
Attend industry events and conferences to network with potential customers and partners
Qualifications
Essential
Matric - National Senior Certificate NQF 4
Desirable
Postgraduate qualification in marketing or relevant trade or industry related certification or relevant courses - (preferred)
Valid driver's license
Experience
Essential
Previous sales representative experience is required
Desirable
Pharmaceutical field knowledge is advantageous
Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrable knowledge to wholesale and pharmacy operations, products and services with specific experience working with excel/sheets based raw data and basic analysis application combined with operational activities relevant to building and maintaining a customer base, sales, service, ordering and fulfillment processes, revenue and profit generation.
Exposure to specific acquisition and retention strategies that drive retention and acquisition in a competitive landscape (preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong prioritization and time management skills
Microsoft excel skills are required
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Agility and the ability to deal with adversity
