Purpose:To analyse the workplace safety systems, uphold safety regulations, educate employees on maintaining their health and safety, ensure a proper working environment, and investigate incidents.
Key Responsibilities:Understand and proactively promote SHE principlesFacilitate SHE investigationsAssist line management with implementation of SHEAssist line management with all SHE related issues (OHSAS 18001, Iso45001, FPS and legislation)Conduct SHE audits of various descriptionsAs BBC Process Champion, facilitate BBC process (incl. BBC training)Coaching of SHERQ administratorsKnowledge of ArcelorMittal Fatality Prevention standardsSupport plants and FPS Champions during external auditsEstablish trends to identify focus areasSupport management in managing the organization's SHE systemUphold a good working relationship with unions, contractors, and SHE RepsResearch and development – undertaking projects to enhance continuous improvementActively participate in problem-solving processesValue adding shopfloor presenceQualifications and Experience:National Diploma in Safety Management (NQF6)5 years experience with a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in the Safety, Health and Environment fieldPlant exposure is strongly recommendedFPS and OHSAS18001 knowledgePersonal Attributes and Requirements:Good knowledge of safety systems and safety managementPlanning, project management, writing, and research skillsGood communication and team dynamic skills
