The South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP) is the leading independent provider of education in psychology, counselling and coaching, offering accredited undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.
The SACAP Foundation, a non-profit entity, was established in 2018, as an integral part of SACAP's social impact intent. Epitomizing positive, deliberate change through education, via academic scholarships, innovation, research, and development initiatives impacting social change, this emerging force has been enabling accessible and qualitative mental health services to communities in SA. The SACAP Foundation aims to grow its national footprint, and is therefore in pursuit of a fervent, visionary Managing Director to join our team.
The candidate will be required to perform various functions that would include:
Oversee and guide the growth of the SACAP Foundation projects.Introduce good management over all the projects.Capacitate projects.Support fundraising efforts and build relationships with donors.Strategic role-playing vis-a-vis the mental health landscape in South Africa.Develop SACAP Foundation as an effective advocate for mental health access in South Africa.Pursue new income generating opportunities.Shape and oversee partnership activities to ensure that we continue to work towards our mission to provide equal access to mental health services.Report to the Foundation Board on its projects' strategy, operations, performance, and finances.Oversee the legal requirements of the Foundation in accordance with its legal status as an NPO. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: A mental health background.At least 5 years' experience in managing non-profit organisations.Project management experience.Confidence in speaking to donors.An excellent grasp of mental health policy and challenges in South Africa.An investment in social change and a desire to advocate for change in the sector. SKILLS: An ability to oversee quantitative and qualitative data collection.Excellent interpersonal skills.Excellent people management skills.Using CMS, Google suite, Excel.Embraces social media as a communication tool.An ability to create indicators for visionary ideas.Create and manage budgets.Monitoring and Evaluation systems used. *Due to the nature of this role, there will be a need to work flexible hours to the extent to which it is reasonably necessary to perform the duties of the Director position.
Operating Hours: This is a full-time position operating from Mondays to Fridays:
Monday to Thursday: 08:30am – 17:00pm
Friday: 08:30am – 16:00pm
