RESERVATIONS MANAGERSamara Karoo Reserve currently has an opportunity for a RESERVATIONS MANAGER, responsible for handling enquiries and converting bookings for Samara's accommodation offerings, with the goal of meeting annual revenue targets.Samara is a safari business with a purpose – where every guest stay contributes to regenerating 27,000 hectares of Karoo landscape through rewilding and responsible tourism.The successful candidate will espouse these values, be highly organized and possess excellent communication abilities with a passion for customer service.About the jobOn-site at the reserve (preferred) OR off-site in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape, South AfricaFull-time positionRemuneration and benefits will be market-related and in accordance with experience and qualificationsResponsible to Head of MarketingKey responsibilities and dutiesBeing a professional, friendly, courteous and efficient first point of contact for guests who have booked at or are enquiring about booking at SamaraManaging the reservations process from start to finish in line with Samara's booking terms and conditions and standard operating proceduresEnsuring that lodge accommodations and experiences are sold in a way that maximises revenue whilst exceeding guest expectationsBuilding relationships with tour operators and travel advisors by providing accurate, detailed information that serves their guests in a timely mannerOptimising conversion rates of enquiries into bookingsDeveloping bespoke itineraries for VIPs and themed tripsOverseeing dissemination of correct rates and booking terms and conditions on online platformsRegular reporting on sales, income due, new business, enquiries and booking releasesGeneral office and administrative duties related to the smooth running of the reservations officeRequirements3-5 years of experience in reservations within the hospitality industryKnowledge and hands-on experience of PAN Hospitality software preferredExcellent written and verbal EnglishStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to work in a remote, lodge-based settingAdditional customer service experience advantageousMicrosoft Excel proficiency advantageousShould you meet the requirements for this position please apply with your CV (maximum 2 pages) and a covering letter including salary expectation.Please note that applicants must be legally entitled to work in South Africa.Correspondence will be conducted with short listed candidates only.
