The School, which played a critical role in the COVID-19 pandemic response, went through a dramatic renaissance after the 2003 SARS crisis and it is now the largest public health school in Canada, with more than 850 faculty, 1,000 students, and research and training partnerships with institutions throughout Toronto and the world. With $76 million in research funding per year, including more than $31.5 million held at DLSPH, the School contributes to improving population health and health policy and health systems through discoveries and innovation in various areas.Your opportunity:As a Research Assistant, you will use your strong understanding and application of qualitative and quantitative research methods to support the planning of research goals. You will be hands-on in analyzing, formatting, and synthesizing research data to contribute to systematic literature reviews and presentation materials. You will utilize your communication and strong interpersonal skills to maintain relationships and ultimately support business objectives.Your responsibilities will include:Implementing and executing qualitative and/or quantitative research methodsAssessing needs and contributing to the planning of research goalsDrafting and submitting documented procedures to the Research Ethics Board (REB) for approvalAnalyzing and formatting data collected to prepare draft statistical reportsSynthesizing technical, qualitative, and contextual research data and conducting systematic literature reviewsFostering stakeholder engagement and maintaining relationships with project partnersHandling sensitive and/or confidential informationEssential Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experienceMinimum one year of relevant research assistant experience, or graduate level training, in an academic research environment or other related institutionExperience collecting and analyzing data, and preparing draft qualitative and quantitative research reportsExperience conducting systematic literature reviews and drafting presentation materialsExperience drafting and submitting documented procedures to the Research Ethics Board (REB)Advanced skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management softwareStrong research skills with solid understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
