Upper South Coast– 50km South of Durban. Excellent opportunity exists with growing medium sized manufacturing concern for an analytical graduate with a strong background in polymer science, ideally PB and PIB, to head up and manage their R&D Department. This would suit a recent graduate - experience would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities: Setting up and managing R&D DepartmentDeveloping new products that can be commercialisedDevelop products tailor made for customersFind alternative suppliers and components to improve performance and / or reduce costs of existing productsLiaise with technology suppliers in the UK (STP)Adapt change manufacturing processes to reduce cost, improve energy efficiency and improve qualityProvide technical back-up for customers and sales teamAssist Quality Control in determining ne QC methodologiesCompliance - become custodian of implementation of ISO 9001 - ISO 14001 management systemsManage and prepare audits (external and internal) for social audits, ECOVADIS and ISO systemsSkills: Strong background in polymer science and more specifically PB and PIBAnalytical thinkerExcellent time management skillsCommercial awareness regarding projectsPolymer Science Graduates from Stellenbosch University or North-West University idealExperience welcome but not necessary
