The Institute of Health, Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME) is housed within the School, focusing on health policy, health services, health informatics, clinical epidemiology, and health care research.
Your opportunity:
As Research Analyst, you will apply your analytical research background to projects involving health system administrative data and population-based data. Responsibilities include contributing to study design, conducting statistical and machine learning analyses, writing reproducible code, performing literature reviews, and assisting in preparing grant applications and reports.
Your responsibilities will include: Implementing and executing quantitative research methodsConducting data analysis and preparing draft reports and summaries for research papersAnalyzing and writing program scripts to extract, reformat, and analyze dataFormatting research results for clarityAssisting in grant submissions and knowledge translation activitiesDelivering presentations at conferences on research findingsTracking and documenting research activitiesSupervising practicum and graduate studentsEssential Qualifications: Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Sciences, Computer Science, or equivalent experienceMinimum three (3) years of relevant work experience, preferably with machine learning and quantitative health-related dataExperience with population-based health-related dataExperience submitting and drafting data-access paperworkExperience writing reports and contributing to manuscriptsExperience presenting at academic conferencesExperience supervising practicum and graduate studentsProficiency in statistical analysis and open-source software (e.g., R, Python, Github)Proficiency with MS Office Suite, EndNote, and relevant programming languagesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational and problem-solving skillsStrong commitment to accuracy and detailDemonstrated initiative in research workAssets (Nonessential): Experience working with ICES health administrative data and machine learningTo be successful in this role you will be: ResourcefulA team playerThis is a term position of 1 year.
