Job Description:
The Renewable Energy and Africa Desk Specialist role is to manage, develop, and grow a designated panel of Brokers, retain existing business, and generate new business opportunities with new brokers to achieve desired sales volumes, Gross Written Premiums, and Loss Ratio Targets within the Renewable Energy sector and risks in Africa.
Job Summary:
The role involves managing, developing, and growing a designated panel of Brokers, retaining existing business, and generating new business opportunities to achieve sales targets and profitability within the Renewable Energy sector and risks in Africa.
Key Tasks & Accountabilities:

Produce a Business Plan that reflects market opportunities for the area of responsibility.
Produce a Sales plan that demonstrates how to identify, develop and manage prospects.
Underwrite and accept risks within the delegated authority to achieve effective implementation of business.
Grow and retain Sales targets.
Track Productivity levels.
Strategically analyze the Brokers business plan and develop future business opportunities.
Ensure adherence to underwriting standards, procedures, and controls.

Business Accountabilities:
Analysis of Governance and risk management, technical expertise, support portfolio management, pricing strategies alignment, and customer support as required by stakeholders.
Success Measures:
Various success measures including achievement of the assigned business plan, compliance with procedures, positive feedback, continuous development, underwriting quality, and financial health.
Qualifications & Experience:
5+ years of Engineering insurance industry experience, sound sales experience, compliance with regulatory requirements, UW authority, technical competence, and business acumen required.
Technical Skills:
Understanding of the South African Insurance market, statutory and legislative requirements, local markets, and Bryte South Africa business strategy.
Travel and Other Requirements:
Extensive local travel required. Driving license mandatory.
