At Digby Wells Environmental, we are passionate about what we do and are extremely fortunate to be able to Make a Difference in the lives of our colleagues, our clients, the communities we work in and the environment.Key Responsibilities:Assisting with the compilation of rehabilitation plans and financial provision estimates.A good understanding of soil science and how soils relate to rehabilitation.Knowledge related to plants and suitable plants for rehabilitation (especially grasses that can be utilized for rehabilitation).Thorough understanding of different techniques that can be used for rehabilitation.Basic background relating to wetland assessments and practical knowledge on the principles of wetland rehabilitation.Understanding of practical methods of rehabilitation that are both feasible and cost effective.Understanding of ecological principles and the impacts of mining on these both pre and post mining.Legal knowledge associated with rehabilitation.Knowledge of potential shortcomings related to existing sites that have been rehabilitated and how to address these shortcomings.Knowledge of monitoring protocols that can be implemented post rehabilitation to monitor the success of rehabilitation.Good verbal and writing skills.Strong knowledge of the mining industry.
