Summary & Purpose The Regional Sales Manager Sub Sahara is responsible for generating product sales and marketing revenue in respect of the Sub Sahara region and achieving the respective revenue targets for the company. He/she is further responsible for the development and implementation of the regional sales strategy (-ies) for the company's product. Additionally, he/she manages a sales and marketing team for the region. Key Performance Areas & Associated Activities Ensure all sales and marketing targets are met or exceeded. Cultivate existing key accounts and build new relationships with potential customers/clients. Identify and create effective revenue-generating environments. Identify and implement business development opportunities. Anticipate future sales and marketing challenges and initiate appropriate actions to respond rapidly to meet the demands of a changing business environment, opportunities and threats. Compile sales presentations, which are compelling and available for all in management. Establish innovative and effective sales and marketing strategies and ensure these are aligned with the business strategy and plan for the development of products. Identify annual strategic priorities for each product (with metrics) and measurable quarterly strategic objectives aligned to support the annual plan. Along with the Managing Director and Senior Management team, set the revenue target for the financial year. Required Standards Effective reporting and measurement systems should be put in place to provide research and data to support the sales strategy. Gather relevant competitor intelligence and disseminate appropriately - translate sales intelligence into appropriate sales actions to produce sustainable results. Provide the Senior Management team with innovative and compelling sales and marketing analysis. Analyse regional market trends and discover new opportunities for growth. Suggest new services/product and innovative sales techniques to increase customer satisfaction. Report sales results and stats when required and provide relevant feedback to the Senior Management team. Ensure all expenses under his/her responsibility are managed in the best interests of the company. Evaluate projects from a profitability point of view and ensure company guidelines are met. Participate in and attend senior management related meetings and functions as required. Ensure the operational efficiency of the products from a sales perspective. Represent the company at appropriate functions and industry related events. Protect the interests of the company at a senior management level. Manage direct reporting employees, namely the FieldNet Sales Coordinator; Territory Manager – Domestic; Application & Field Service Manager; Sales Manager - After Market; Customer Service and Marketing Manager; Territory Manager, Export. Motivate and train reporting employees, including regular performance management. Requirements Experience in the field of Irrigation (required) Understands the culture and has worked in both South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa (required) 5 - 8 years' relevant work experience in senior sales management in a manufacturing and agricultural environment. Bachelor's degree or diploma. Valid Driver's License. Understanding of the company's products. Entrepreneurial thinker with a highly influential, motivational personality. Well-connected and ability to form strong relationships with clients/customers. Commercially and entrepreneurially oriented. Flexible, resilient, strong team player, target driven, strategic planning ability. Ability to technically interpret and explain company's products and manufacturing processes. Ability to lead and motivate a team of sales and marketing staff. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent customer focus orientation. Excellent organizational skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Advanced skills in MS Office packages.
