About the job Regional Payroll Manager (Perm)Key purpose:Managing and leading the regional Payroll team. Ensuring full compliance across the AME (Africa and Middle East) region. Coordinate and collaborate with other departments for tax year closings and other regulatory requirements.Duties and responsibilities:Responsible for the accurate administration and reconciliation of the wages and salaries payrolls.Sage VIP system maintenance and administration with regards to payroll information.Lead and manage the Payroll team.Ensure the accurate and timely administration of new employees or terminations as well as personal information changes.Formulate, document, implement and administer end-to-end payroll processes, policies, and practices.Ensure accurate capturing and processing of weekly and monthly payrolls.Take ownership for reconciling the VIP Payroll system with Workday and administrating the process of correcting any reconciling issues.Initiate improvement projects to improve the efficiency of the team and reduce workload requirements.Partner with the Human Resource department in ensuring all required deadlines are met and accuracy of information is maintained.Ensure timely administration of leave/sick leave.Ensure printing of weekly/monthly audit reports.Reconcile audit reports to weekly/monthly payrolls.Ensure the processing and loading of payslips on Workday.Ensure that personnel records are maintained and updated.Ensure all payroll reports are signed off by the finance department.Ensure compliance with tax and statutory requirements across the region.Liaise with third-party service providers in designing procedures to comply with foreign payroll requirements including expat payroll.Reconcile all payrolls to GL, including control accounts and provision accounts.Ensure timely and accurate third-party payments as per reconciliations.Responsible for IRP5 reconciliation, printing, and issuing thereof.Responsible for IRP5 e-filing.Responsible for resolving any SARS queries.Previous experience with VIP Payroll is a must.Previous experience with Workday will be beneficial.Manage the performance and service delivery of the team, taking overall accountability for the performance of the team and the execution of subordinates in line with their delegated responsibilities.Ensure retirement and other policy claims are accurately and timely processed.Support management in formulating and establishing quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.Adhere to all HSE and housekeeping requirements.Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times.Qualifications and experience:BCom Accounting Degree.Bachelor's degree in commerce.Grade 12 Certificate.Sage VIP experience.6 to 10 years related experience.Must have payroll and compliance experience related to multiple jurisdictions in Africa and the Middle East for payrolls over 1,000 employees.Keen understanding and application of relevant labour legislation.
