Details of the offer

Purpose of the Role: To source new public sector clients for the Bank (both the Business Banking and Consumer Banking Divisions). To liaise and negotiate with new and existing clients of the Bank and to accurately analyse potential transactions. Strong focus on problem solving, develop solutions for clients beyond vanilla products. To liaise and coordinate with relevant staff and departments at the Bank to develop solutions/products, facilitate and coordinate the initiating and finalizing of transactions. To structure financing solutions to various transactions on high value transactions. To provide these clients with the necessary information, support and assistance throughout the lifespan of their facilities/business transactions with the Bank to ensure effective and efficient business relationships. To develop deep relationships with Public Sector executives across the 3 spheres of Government (National, Provincial and Local); Schedule 2 and 3 entities; Tertiary institutions (Universities, TVETs) in the interest of maintaining and furthering existing relationships as well as to create new relationships. To create awareness in the market of the Bank's capabilities and to grow the Bank's brand. To contribute to achieving the bank's NIR and NII income target in line with the budget, increasing each year. To contribute to increase the Business banking loan advances by the budgeted amount on a net basis year on year.Role Responsibilities:Treating customers fairly and complianceCreate and maintain productive relationships with internal and external clients by providing advice and assistanceCreate understanding of the 'real' versus 'perceived' need through experience and expertise while complying with company policies, legislation and regulationsKeep the client informed about progress through written communication, telephone communications, and/or face-to-face meetingsBuild a positive image by exceeding client expectations at all timesTreat internal and external customers fairly at all timesManagement of resources and trainingDevelop and maintain staff costs and budgetsManage and develop subordinate(s): Performance management in terms of contracting, reviews and poor performers, Training and development, Employee relationsManage people efficiencies through leave management, headcount budget, fixed term contracts, staff movements, secondments, staff utilizationTake appropriate disciplinary measures as requiredFacilitate induction of new staff within one month of joining the organizationRegulatory ComplianceEnsure compliance with FICA, FATCA, POPI, FAIS/TCF, PFMA/MFMA, PRECAEnsure all internal audit outstanding matters are resolved.Ensure that there is no non-compliance that may result in regulatory fines.Client AdministrationManage client queries in an efficient manner and ensure all queries and client requests are attended to timeously, ensuring client satisfaction at all times.Control and coordinate all aspects of a deal, ensuring the timeous and smooth conclusion of the transaction.Managing And Growing Client RelationshipsEffectively manage, maintain and strengthen client relationships.Continuously provide clients with the necessary support and assistance, always ensuring the highest level of service and client satisfaction.Managing Strategic Internal RelationshipsEffectively manage, maintain and strengthen internal relationships.Provide the relevant departments with the required information, assistance and support to ensure the prompt conclusion of new transactions and the smooth running of existing loans with the BankManaging Existing Deposits and Loan BookSource new clients for the Deposits and Corporate Lending division and ensure growth of the existing loan book.Negotiate transaction terms with potential clients while analysing transactions accurately.Communicate with these potential clients timeously while looking after the best interests of the Bank.Attend to all aspects of the deal making process and the maintenance of sound and effective business transactions until take on of client on the loan book.Achieve target in respect of fee income, advances growth and net interest income in line with budget.Management Of The Operational Function Within The Lending DivisionManagement of the operational team.Ensure that all internal (audit, compliance and credit) and external (all client related operational queries) requirements are met.Minimum Education and Experience:B COMM/FINANCIAL QUALIFICATION, MBA is an added advantageBetween 8–15 years' experience in the Financial And/or Professional Services Industries with a deep understanding of the Public Sector and Banking Environment.Sales, advisory services and relationship management are essential capabilities.
