The Receiving Manager will need to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the receiving process, contributing to overall operational efficiency and reducing errors in inventory management by carrying out the following:1. Ensuring Accurate DeliveriesVerify Shipments: The checking of incoming shipments against purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices to ensure that the correct items and quantities have been received.Inspect Goods: The inspecting of the goods for any visible damage, defects, or inconsistencies and ensuring that they meet quality standards as agreed per the PPAPs and the Company's Group Quality Manual.2. Documentation and Record KeepingMaintain Records: The keeping accurate records of what has been received, noting any discrepancies, damages, or shortages.Coordinate with Other Departments: providing the relevant departments (like purchasing, production, quality, and finance) with documentation related to deliveries via Docbox, RDS App, RIMS & Syspro.3. Managing InventoryInventory Updates: ensuring that inventory levels are updated in the companys system via timeous receipting (GRNing) and Issuing ( Transfers & Expense issues) ensuring all ICs are up to date.Storage: Overseeing the proper storage of components, making sure that items are stored safely and in accordance with their requirements, ensuring preservation to prevent rust and obsolescence.Stock counts & Monthly Cycle counts: Carrying out efficient and accurate inventory counts to support lean and efficient material call off to eliminate waste though damage and expiry (rust) of stock4. Problem ResolutionHandle Discrepancies: If there are issues with a shipment (wrong items, damage, or missing goods), communicating with suppliers and arranges for returns or replacements via the Company's RDS process plus the safe keeping and return of Trenstar cages to prevent loss and limit financial risk to the business.Supplier Relations: By working closely with suppliers to resolve delivery issues and improve the receiving process and providing information for scars.5. Compliance and SafetyHealth & Safety: Ensuring that safety protocols are followed during the receiving and handling of goods to prevent accidents or damage, both to staff and to equipment. This includes the maintenance of warehousing equipment such as jacks and forklifts.Compliance: They ensure that all receiving processes comply with company policies and legal regulations, including customs if applicable.6. Team ManagementSupervising Receiving Staff: Overseeing and supervising the team and their work, ensuring efficient workflow and training staff on best practices.
