Raw Materials QCQualityAccountable for specialist outputs, as well as initiating quality standards within defined work routines and policies.Job PurposeTo ensure effective standards of quality assurance through the effective execution of raw materials quality control and food safety. Manages Kosher and Halaal audits and ensures supplier quality assurance. The role enforces the allergen management PRP where applicable.Key Accountabilities And OutputsSupplier Quality AssuranceManage the supplier databaseEnsure the Supplier Folders are always up to dateObsolete all old/expired certifications and documentationUpdate Supplier audit registersEnsure that Supplier audits have been tallied, findings have been closed out with corrective actionEnsure that all newly approved suppliers have completed all SQA documentation in full before uploading to the databaseEscalate any incomplete or missing documentation/information to the QC Supervisor/Quality ManagerRaw Materials ReceivingEnsure all the relevant documentation has been completedEnsure that COAs are received for every batch of raw material receivedRaw Materials Quality ControlEnsure and enforce adherence to the RMQC Sampling planEnsure aseptic sampling techniques are practiced where ingredients are concernedInspection and Analysis of raw materials in accordance with established SOPsAccurate capturing of resultsEnforce Good Laboratory PracticesEnsure timeous calibration and daily verification of equipment used for raw material analysisEnforce proper housekeeping in the lab and raw materials receiving areasWater and Effluent AnalysisEnsure adherence to the source and treated water sampling planAnalysis of source and treated water samples in accordance with established SOPsAccurate capturing of resultsEscalation of any outages on any testing parameters to the QC Supervisor/Quality ManagerSupplier Non Conformance HandlingImplementing rejection protocols for any raw materials that fail critical testing parametersEscalating Supplier NCs following the Supplier NC ProcedureCompletion of the Supplier NC RegisterFollow through for corrective action and close out of NCsEnsuring that Supplier NC records are completed in full and signed off by both partiesUploading of SNCs to the databaseEnsuring that the supplier NC folders are always up to dateMonitoring and Evaluating Supplier NC trendsUpdating the Quality Manager weekly on Supplier NCsFood SafetyEnforces Food Safety requirements with regards to raw material controlInternal auditing - monthly GMP auditsReligious Certification CompliancesEnsure that all approved ingredients have an updated halaal and kosher certificationUpdate and maintain a raw materials and final product list to be used for halaal and kosher certificationFacilitate halaal and kosher certification inspections and audits with relevant religious bodiesTimeous close out of any findings from auditsAllergen ManagementEnforces the Allergen Management PRPAdherence to the Quality, Food Safety, Health, Safety and Environmental StandardsEnsure strict adherence to Quality, Food, Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.Enforce all food safety and health regulations, policies, and requirements at all times to guarantee a secure work environment.Maintain exceptional personal hygiene as per the organization's code of conduct.Raise awareness about potential physical product contamination and implement control measures to prevent it.Take reasonable precautions to prevent health and safety hazards. Follow the prescribed incident reporting procedure in case of accidents.Stay updated with relevant business information, policies, processes, and procedures.
