Raw Materials Buyer

Our client, in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a Raw Materials Buyer to join their team. The successful candidate will report to the Supply Chain Manager.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.Min of 5 years of experience in raw materials procurement within the manufacturing industry.Familiar with import/export procedures.Strong negotiation and communication skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficient in using procurement software and systems.Knowledge of cosmetic/pharmaceutical industry regulations and quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Source and place orders for raw materials, equipment, incidentals, consumables, and packaging in compliance with quality and safety regulatory standards.Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost-effective pricing and timely delivery.Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.Perform supplier monitoring by analyzing feedback from relevant departments, e.g., Quality Control and goods receiving.Perform SYSPRO transactions, e.g., requisitions, purchase orders, MRP.Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.Proactively respond to internal customer requirements in support of departmental objectives.Ensure on-time deliveries within the minimum dock to stock.Monitor inventory levels of raw materials to optimize stock levels and minimize stockouts.Ensure stock rotation (turns) are within agreed limits.Follow up on supplier complaints.Conduct cost analysis to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and optimize procurement processes.Compile monthly reports.Stay updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging raw material technologies.Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies.
