Our brands stand for freedom and self-expression around the world.The Role:The Inventory Management Planner is trusted advisor to the South Africa planning lead to support the end-to-end inventory strategies and acts as a catalyst for driving continuous improvement through the development & optimization of supply planning. This position is responsible for building cross-team relationships, negotiating with merchandise planning, finance, logistics, trade compliance, legal, finished goods planning and commercial to ensure the development of profitable inventory strategies through demand and supply alignment. This role also works as interface for supply visibility to business managing varied GTM timelines of global, local supplies from vendors and South Africa O&O plant.Key Responsibilities:Inventory Management• Serve as a liaison between planning and supply teams to build delivery plans & flow forecasts• Responsible for building effective inventory strategies that align with financial objectives of the company• Accountable for collaborating with Planning lead, FG Planner, Logistics, Trade compliance, Global sourcing (GSM), supplier sourcing (SSM), local production (Epping) teams to resolve issues related to product shipment delays or early arrivals• Support preparation of key S&OP, WOR and recommend profitable inventory decisions• Provide monthly demand & supply reconciliation to commercial, O2CX & MP stakeholders• Support MBR & QBR preparation and inventory forecast for AFP/ F4/7/10• Recommend exception management activities• Drive key KPI of inventory turns for South Africa businessManage Supply and Demand Optimally• Reviews and interprets ship risk reports, recommends and supports action plans to mitigate risks.• Work with regional Supply Planning to submit sizing ratios for products and ensure they meet demand requirements.• Prepare, track and make recommendations regarding the 'availability to sell' report on a monthly basis.• Tracking of inbound deliveries, PO's placed ex-factory dates, size ratios, drops and quantities ordered. Monitor global drops and freeze lists. Ensure all changes are made in the Inventory Tracker/Channel Allocation report• Update the master file monthly to track "active" PC9's.• "Close Out" PC9's as per Product Life Cycle and work with Merchandise Planners on Close Out report / meeting each month.• Work with Logistics & Trade compliance on review lead times on lanes and clear any bottlenecks delaying supplies• Ensure timely PO release as per weekly cycle following up with master setup in co-ordination with Brand Merchandising, Finance & planning teams• Support FG planners & review preq. every month for influencing supplies• Support any key stories and marketing supply managementSupport Forecasting and Planning Activity• Liaise with Supply Planning and Sales in order to adjust product flow to the sales accounts based on product availability which includes AGR (additional good receipts) and CID (cancellation, improvements & deferments)• Interface for South Africa O&O in terms of annual production & supply strategy• Quickly troubleshoots unusual situations pertaining to demand flow along with the MP teams and align on execution of solutions.• Continuously spots opportunities for process improvement within supply & demand management flow• Key coordinator for any inter-company requests or execution• Escalates critical items to the planning leadSupply and Demand alignment including WOW• Inventory Snapshot/Tracker• Drive demand and supply alignment cross-functionally• Inventory Units & Value (IPS)• Cross-channel Inventory Allocation• Core IPS (Demand, Supply & Safety Stock Management)• Mitigate supply & ship risk• Recommend change of shipment mode liaising with Finance & POD• Ad hoc analysis as neededExcess and Obsolete Management• Create Liquidation strategies for effective E&O management with Planning lead• Responsible for negotiating and executing deals with jobbers• Drive pack liquidation deals with wholesale partners along with commercial teams• Driving key ageing KPIs along with Planning, finance & commercial to run promos in stores for distressed stocksCompetency Profile:• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Ability to influence and lead multi-functional stakeholders.• Demonstrates the ability to collaborate, build and maintain effective relationships across business units, global regions and cultures• Has strong analytical skills• Deep experience in problem solving skills.• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneouslyJob Requirements:• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain management or relevant tertiary education essential• 7 years Category Management experience (preferably in a retail environment)• Technical proficiency with computer software tools and the ability to learn new ones quickly (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, internal Ace applications)• MS Office Skills especially Excel (Pivot & Data Analytics is a must)• SAP (MM / Purchasing) & Business Warehouse knowledge will be an added advantageShould you meet all the above requirements and wish to apply for the vacancy, please send your CV directly to ****** - Applications close: 30 August 2024As a responsible employer, Levi Strauss SA (Pty) Ltd is committed to and understands its responsibilities in terms of the Employment Equity Act of 1998.
