Rad-X-Lin (Pty) Ltd. specializes in the installation and service of advanced medical equipment in the field of Radiotherapy. The Head of Rad-X-Lin (RXL) will lead a team of highly specialized technicians in providing world-class technical expertise and troubleshooting for the maintenance and servicing of linear accelerators and other advanced radiotherapy equipment. This role is critical to ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety of the equipment used in cutting-edge cancer treatment. The successful candidate will combine technical leadership with strong team management, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment while maintaining industry-leading standards in troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance. Additionally, they will drive innovation and continuous improvement to ensure that Rad-X-Lin continues to deliver exceptional service in a fast-evolving field. 1. Technical Leadership: Expertise in maintaining, troubleshooting, and servicing linear accelerators and other related medical equipment. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to manage complex technical issues. In-depth knowledge of safety standards, regulatory compliance (such as radiation safety), and best practices in equipment maintenance. Experience with emerging technologies in radiotherapy equipment and medical physics. 2. Team Leadership: Proven experience in leading a team of highly skilled technicians or engineers. Ability to manage and motivate a team, providing guidance and support to ensure high levels of performance. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration within the team. Conflict resolution and the ability to manage performance issues proactively. 3. Operational and Strategic Responsibilities: Project management skills to oversee installations, upgrades, and major service interventions. Strategic planning abilities to align the technical team's goals with the wider business objectives of Rad-X-Lin. Budget management experience to control costs associated with maintenance and equipment procurement. 4. Health & Safety: Expertise in health and safety protocols, particularly in radiation safety and electrical hazards. Experience ensuring that the team adheres to safety standards and regularly reviews risk assessments. Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Medical Physics, or a related field. Certification or training in the maintenance of linear accelerators (or similar radiotherapy equipment). Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a technical leadership role, with specific experience in radiotherapy or medical equipment maintenance. Experience on the Elekta / Varian range of Linear Accelerators (Linacs) would be particularly advantageous Leadership experience managing a technical team of at least 10-15 people. Experience with the maintenance of medical imaging equipment (MRI, CT) could be an advantage. Experience with digital tools and systems for equipment monitoring and reporting. Ability to innovate and drive improvements in technical processes.
