There is an opportunity within QTS to join our Civil Engineering team in Scotland as a Quantity Surveyor/Graduate Quantity Surveyor. This role will consist of assisting with the commercial administration and management of our Network Rail Framework contracts, working on a number of small to medium sized projects to deliver and improve agreed cost forecasts and margins.As Quantity Surveyor, you will personally develop core commercial and industry related skills and knowledge, while working on the various contracts. Working within our Commercial Department alongside two other Quantity Surveyors, you will report into the Senior Quantity Surveyor.We are looking for a driven individual who is willing to hit the ground running and be fully committed to taking responsibility for their own development, actively pursuing learning and career development opportunities. You will need to be forward thinking and an excellent communicator, both verbally and written.Role and Responsibilities:Assist in commercially managing our various projects, providing a comprehensive and professional commercial service from contract award to completion.Contribute to maximising margin and cash flow, minimising costs and preparing Change Requests and applications for payment in a timely manner for review and submission to the client.Support the provision of all commercial deliverables in line with contract requirements and timescales, monitoring the production of records, correspondence and documentation.Work with the commercial and contract lead to ensure all Change Requests are submitted promptly in accordance with the contract.Grow relationship with customers and attending meetings to review and resolve commercial issues.Skills required:BSc in Quantity Surveying, equivalent qualification or working towardsExperience working as a Quantity Surveyor, including parttime while studying would be advantageousEffective communicator (written and verbal)Previous experience in Rail is preferredWhat we offer:A tailored personal development and training programmeQTS is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
