The mission of the Quality Assurance team within Capital International is to deliver working software that meets our customers' needs by providing fast feedback and defect prevention. The QA team is looking to strengthen, and as a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting our CI/CD process through testing.
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be expected to ensure the delivery of quality applications through industry-recognized testing methods for our suite of fresh, modern client reporting, banking, and investment platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a software tester within the finance or e-gaming sectors and want to join a legendary team where they can feel empowered.
What you'll doReporting to the Quality Assurance manager and supporting our Banking and Investment squads to release software with high quality into production through our CI/CD pipelines.
Work in an agile development team focused on continuous delivery of software in a collaborative environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality solutions to our customers.Review quality specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate quality testing activities.Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases to ensure the highest quality product delivery.Design, develop, and catalogue automation scripts, following the coding standards and procedures for test automation.Responsible for coordinating activities within a test plan between internal resources.Identify, record, document thoroughly, track, and retest bugs.Be engaged with the Product, Business Analysis, and Development throughout the software development life cycle.Track quality assurance metrics and act on them appropriately, like defect densities, open defect counts, and testing progress.Focus on continuous improvement of the QA process including usage of appropriate testing techniques, testing tools, and automation tools.Assist in technical growth through experimentation and creativity across the QA team to create a high-performing, multi-faceted team.Work with the QA manager to develop and execute QA strategies to meet and exceed department and corporate quality goals.At all times, the Group's values should be at the heart of everything, and consistency of evidence of adherence to the values will be a key aspect of the role.
What you need to succeedA passion for testing, quality, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to think laterally.Ideally proven experience (3+ years) in a similar role across multiple projects, offshore and in-house.Experience with modern technology and testing tools; Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence), Test Management tools (e.g., qTest, Zephyr, X-Ray).Working knowledge of current development methodologies (Agile/Scrum) with excellent analysis, communication, and documentation abilities.Confidence to work with and express ideas as part of a collaborative and creative team.The ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality or functionality.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.A desire to progress test automation upskilling is a must; however, existing knowledge of automation tools is going to be beneficial (e.g., Cypress, Postman, jMeter).The ability to understand how a business functions and to balance testing and quality needs with organizational goals.Commitment to continuous development and continuing education, to stay on top of IT and quality assurance testing trends.It would be beneficial to hold or be studying towards the ISTQB Foundation level in software testing (or local equivalent).You will need to be personable, genuine, with a clear interest in technological trends and will need a sense of humour.Who we are:We're a family-oriented company, with clients at the heart of everything we do.
