Role: QA Manager is a leadership role, accountable for the successful implementation of QA methodologies, processes, and automation technologies within DevOps & Agile Principles. Managing a QA team of 10 – 15 individuals, the candidate will work closely with the COO, CTO, and other Executives to deliver software that meets product design and quality requirements. The quality of software delivery will be collaboratively defined and codified to banking-grade security, maintainability, and defined architecture. The candidate will be accountable for the QA team and the implementation of automated testing. Structure and Context: The client is on a modernization journey, with people at the core of the transformation. QA Chapter members will form part of multifunctional delivery and operational teams, reporting to Scrum Masters for delivery, and to the QA Head (this role) for competence, growth path, process, and standards. Implementation and adoption of test automation, as part of a greater DevOps transformation, is critical to the role. What the job will entail day to day:Inspire and coach the team to: - Adopt new ways of work. - Drive Automation. - Use best practice QA principles. - Assist the company in driving high efficiency & QA in software development. - Take care of the people in the QA chapter. Main Accountabilities: - Empower the QA chapter to create flow and quality within the CI/CD process. - Drive the QA strategy to implementation. - Work effectively with the client's teams (i.e., Project Office, Development & Infrastructure teams) to ensure timely delivery of work against agreed priorities. - Implement mechanisms to monitor, manage, and provide progress on all QA activities. - Accountable for the delivery of quality software development projects. - Ensure that the product/feature/enhancement requirements have been met as set out in design. - Create, implement, and maintain a continuous improvement plan for QA. - Work closely with the project office and the business development teams to meet current and future customer needs. - Research the external environment and, where appropriate, identify and recommend external partners for the delivery of best-of-breed technologies suitable for QA. - Review and apply best practices to establish frameworks consistent with and supportive of the Product and Business Development Strategy. - Identify and implement technology to support the future success of the business. - Articulate to colleagues, directors, and user communities the company's technological vision, opportunities, and challenges as part of the company strategy. - Collaborate with appropriate functions and users to evaluate and identify technology platforms for delivering the company's products and internal services. - Understand the use cases (and/or user stories) to oversee the design of the QA for the products to be built. - Establish software consistent QA standards and processes aligned with best practices for delivering scalable, robust, and high-quality software. - Supervise resource allocation and availability to assure productive and sustainable use of available resources taking into consideration customer demand versus resource availability (i.e., resource and capacity management). - Responsible for his/her own work planning against objectives set in agreement with the COO. - Ensure effective internal communications both within the software development team and across the organization. Team (Building and Management) Accountabilities: - Build an environment of psychological safety for team members to thrive. - Ensure that the skills and experience of the QA team are consistent with its engineering, technological, and business needs for providing quality in current and future services. - Establish clear organizational structures and succession plans aligned with appropriate accountabilities, responsibilities, and personal development for all QA team members in line with any anticipated growth. - Provide support to team members in keeping with the client's values, policies, and procedures. - Comply with all relevant policies and procedures. - Complete all documents required by the company policies and procedures. Other Accountabilities: - Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may be reasonably expected from the role in order to achieve the objectives of the Head of QA and the client's strategy. Special Requirements: - Willing to work overtime (as an exception when required). - Perform standby duties (as an exception when required). - Must have own and reliable transport. - Reliable and secure home internet. Qualifications: - DevOps and/or Agile Training. Knowledge and Skills: - Deep and practical understanding of DevOps and Agile Methodology, processes, and principles. - Microsoft DevOps (software) Experience. - Leadership. Experience: - In taking companies and/or software development teams through a transformation and change management process. - Implementing and getting test automation adopted. - Driving and reporting on strategic initiatives in QA. - Between 7 - 10 Years.
