SUMMARY
Established in 2010, The Centre of Psychotherapy Excellence (COPE) is a multi-disciplinary treatment programme that lies at the heart of Akeso's mental health facilities and specialises in mental health care services. The permanent Psychologist position will require the incumbent to work on a full-time basis and will be based at the Akeso Pietermaritzburg Clinic. The incumbent will contribute and coordinate all mental health related activities ensuring quality care and support to patients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide high quality therapeutic programs and interventions to both in-patients and out-patients with measurable outcomes.
Conduct daily group therapy sessions.
Management of individual cases and individual therapy.
Conduct individual assessments and client-centred intervention.
Fulfilling administration duties as required by the group practice and HPCSA.
Work as a fully integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team.
Attend weekly ward rounds and provide feedback to the team regarding patients' progress and treatment.
Actively support and engage in Clinical Quality Projects activities and initiatives.
Engage in regular training and supervision to ensure best practice.
Ensure CPD requirements are met.
Carry out administrative duties for COPE as required to ensure smooth running of the therapeutic program.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Professional Registration with HPCSA as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist.
Registered with BHF.
Knowledge and experience with DBT would be advantageous.
Proficiency in English and Zulu would be advantageous.
