The Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI) is a nationwide program where the organisation works in collaboration with the Department of Basic Education (DBE) and Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF).
It is the largest youth employment programme in South Africa, with approximately 250,000 youth who will receive soft and technical skill training.
The company will thus be supporting the upskilling of the youth and general workforce for integration into the educator space and general national industrialization, leading to either improved learning outcomes in the schools and/or to enhance their own pathways forward after the programme.The role will be located at the Eastern Cape office.
Successful candidates will be travelling from school to school on a rotational basis monitoring and providing system support.
They will also be responding to queries on the payment system.• To monitor monthly provincial payroll submissions ensuring that timesheets are timeously and accurately converted to net       pay accordingly.• Monitor monthly, quarterly and bi-annual programme compliance / reporting.• Monitor reconcile payroll monthly / quarterly budget (both wage non- wage).• Assist with monthly accounting and record keeping.• Monitoring of schools to ensure compliance with the programme• A Post Matric qualification – preferably in finance, IT or Payroll.• Payroll related qualificationDuties and Responsibilities:• Monitoring/vetting payroll information submitted by the province to ensure it is valid, approved and accurate• Perform analysis on province payroll data to identify any anomalies and track compliance with agreed pay rates and               employee level split.• Compare/monitor actual wage costs to budget and identify reasons for variances• Checking PAYE, UIF, COIDA provisions for reasonability and ensure payment on the part of the province to relevant                 statutory bodies• Analyse exception reports timeously and follow up on unsuccessful wage payments to ensure timeous completion• Analyse recipient movements (Onboards, offboards, transfers)• Monitor province's monthly progress reports against programme outputs• Monitoring schools for compliance with the overall programme objectives.• Providing technical support on the programme's payment system.Experience• 3 years related payroll administration experience• Performing reconciliations, specifically Paye, UIF and COIDA• General office administration, queries and filing• MS Word; PowerPoint; Excel; Outlook• Project Administration will be an added advantageTechnical/Functional Competencies• Own vehicle is a must• Maintaining confidentiality at all times• Planning and organising• Attention to detail• Risk identification and mitigation• Analytical and problem solving• Results and solution orientatedÂ
