The position will report to the Project Executive and is based in Dunnottar, Nigel (Gauteng Province).Job PurposeSupport the Project Manager by managing the operational activities.Coordinate the operational project team (such as PrEM, PrIM, PrSM, PrSCM, PrTCM, PrCCM, PrPIM…) and Participating Units in accordance with QCDP objectives of the project.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Project Manager on operational topics including:Ensure that all activities from PC10 (ex-works) to PAC (customer acceptance) are well coordinated and managed with all relevant stakeholders (Manufacturing, T&C, EoC, TFR, PRASA, Wolmerton teams including the depot manager and the PrPIM).Coordinate the feedback of issues detected after PC10 to the production line.Review and approve all technical derogations.Co-ordinate and ensure timely closure of all 8Ds (systemic defects) and other design improvements (especially ones requested by the customer).Manage the execution of baselines, projects in the master plan and CCB (change & config board) changes.Assist in identifying and mitigating operational risks (specifically related to Supply Chain and availability of machinery in the factory).Assist in project reviews as necessary.Assist in the management of Risks and Savings as necessary.EducationBachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering.Other qualifications in Project Management (CAPM, PMP, IPMA), Continuous Improvement or higher qualifications/registrations in Engineering will be an advantage.ExperienceMinimum of 5 years' experience in a core technical role (e.g. Engineering, Industrial, Quality, etc.).Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a cross-functional project team.General knowledge of Railways and related technologies.General knowledge of Project Management principles.In-depth knowledge of subsystems on passenger trains.In-depth knowledge of the V-Cycle (DFQ) product development processes.Excellent written and oral skills in English.Communication and interpersonal skills.Effective collaboration and working in a team.Closing Date: 11 December 2024Should you not hear from us in 30 days, consider your application as unsuccessful.
