Minimum Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree / National Diploma: Business & Project Management or Engineering. Recognised qualification from a registered institution (such as PMI) in the field of Project Management essential. Project Management Certification, a distinct advantage. Minimum 5 years in a Project Management role in the Automotive Industry. Key Performance Areas: Report to the Plant Manager: Project Strategy and Initiation: Develop the Projects Strategic plan and ensure implementation. Provide leadership to Project teams. Conduct project feasibility studies to establish the viability. Contribute to project initiation, scope definition and scope change control. Participate in the estimation and preparation of cost budgets: monitor and control actual cost against budget. Obtain project approvals. Project Planning: Schedule project activities to facilitate effective project execution. Identify, organise and co-ordinate project life cycle phases. Design & Drawing: Approve internal and external drawings. Project Management: Support the project environment and activities to deliver project objectives. Contribute to the management of project risk. Identify, suggest and implement corrective actions to improve quality of project work. Evaluate and improve the project team's performance. Commission machines and equipment or pilot and test new/existing products. Project Administration/Financial: Implement project administration processes. Conduct project documentation management to support project processes. Provide input into the budget process. Monitor performance against budget (expense controls, variances, etc.) Initiate requests for Capex/Disposal/Transfers. Participate in the audit process. Policies and Procedures/Reporting: Initiate and approve Project Policies, Procedures, Protocols, Work Instructions, Codes of Practice, etc. Compile Project Reports and Presentations Continuous Improvement: Conduct R&D on new/existing technologies/plant/products. Benchmark project processes and systems. Manage Continuous Improvement initiatives (e.g. Kaizen, Quality Circles, Six Sigma)
