Overview: Our client in the automotive industry is looking to employ a Project Manager to lead and manage the Project Function in order to meet business objectives. Minimum Requirements: Grade 12/MatricBachelor's Degree / National Diploma: Business and Project Management or EngineeringMust have a recognized qualification from a registered institution (such as PMI) in the field of Project ManagementCertification as a Project Manager will be a distinct advantageMinimum 5 years in a Project Management role in the Automotive Industry  Key Performance Areas: Project Strategy Develop the Projects Strategic Plan and ensure implementationProvide leadership to the Project TeamsAchieve/exceed the annual Project Plan in accordance with individual Project budgetsProject Initiation Identify opportunities for improvements with internal and external customers and propose alternative solutionsConduct project feasibility studies to establish the viability of proposed projectsContribute to project initiation, scope definition and scope change controlParticipate in the estimation and preparation of cost budgets for projects or sub projects and monitor and control actual cost against budgetObtain approval for ProjectsProject PlanningSchedule project activities to facilitate effective project executionIdentify, organise and co-ordinate project life cycle phases for control purposesDesign & DrawingApprove internal and external drawingsProject Management Support the project environment and activities to deliver project objectivesContribute to the management of project risk within own field of expertiseIdentify, suggest and implement corrective actions to improve quality of project workEvaluate and improve the project team's performanceCommission machines and equipment or pilot and test new/existing productProject Administration Implement project administration processes according to requirementsConduct project documentation management to support project processesPolicies and Procedure Initiate and approve Project Policies, Procedures, Protocols, Work Instructions, Codes of Practice, etc.Continuous Improvement Conduct Research & Development of new/existing technologies/plant/productsBenchmark Project processes and systems against Best PracticesManage Continuous Improvement initiatives:KaizenQuality CirclesSix SigmaStandardised WorkVA/VE (Value Added/Value EngineeredReporting Compile Project Reports and Presentations Financial Management Provide input into the budget processMonitor performance against budget (expense controls, variances, etc.)Initiate requests for CAPEX/Disposal/TransfersParticipate in the Audit processAdhere to Financial Policies and ProceduresProtect company assets (working capital & fixed assets)Detect and prevent fraudPromote good Corporate Governance
