Project Maintenance Manager

Our client a leading provider of luxury safari experiences, is looking for an experienced Project Maintenance Manager to join one of their high-end safari camps in Botswana.Salary And BenefitsNegotiable. ResponsibilitiesManage all aspects of maintenance and repairs during the construction phase of the safari camp.Coordinate with contractors, architects, and engineers to ensure that maintenance activities align with project timelines and specifications.Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and address issues promptly to maintain project progress.Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of camp facilities, equipment, and infrastructure.Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and efficiency of camp assets.Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels to support maintenance activities.Recruit, train, and supervise maintenance staff, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and teamwork.Provide ongoing coaching and support to enhance the skills and performance of the maintenance team.Delegate tasks effectively and prioritize workload to maximize efficiency and productivity.Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards in all maintenance activities.Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to minimize hazards and mitigate risks to staff and guests.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and safety protocols.Work closely with the current Maintenance Manager to familiarize yourself with camp operations and maintenance requirements.Prepare to assume the role of Maintenance Manager upon completion of the project, including managing ongoing maintenance operations, budgeting, and staff management.Key SkillsExcellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to maintenance issues. Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Strong technical knowledge of building systems, electrical plumbing, and HVAC systems.QualificationsRelevant certifications or qualifications in maintenance management or a related field are desirable.Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in the hospitality or construction industry.
