Purpose of Position:The Project Engineer is a critical part of the Project Engineering and technical team. The project engineer has a strong and broad high-level knowledge of the mining systems deployed. The primary responsibilities include working with Project Managers and Team Leaders to ensure efficient deployment of mining systems on time and within budget, managing training and development of technical staff, and ensuring system deployment is as efficient as possible.Duties and Responsibilities:Actively work on product/project deployment of complex mining solutions in a hands-on manner.Support and maintain software.Deliver bespoke customizations as required.Troubleshoot system issues.Own and implement customer system configurations.Implement system customizations using scripting tools.Participate in onsite system installation efforts.Take ownership and responsibility for customer issues and problems.Provide technical leadership and gather customer requirements.Act as technical project lead for system deployments.Serve as primary customer contact for support and enhancements after deployment.Facilitate customer system training and work collaboratively with the sales team.Maintain, enhance, and adhere to documentation and reporting standards.Knowledge & Experience Required:Education/Credentials:A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering (Computer / Mining / Electrical / Electronic), Computer Science, or a related field.Experience / Skills / Attributes:Experience with IP networking.Experience with Hardware installation.Experience with or knowledge of C++ OR Objective-C software development.Ability to form strong relationships with customers.Strong time management and prioritization skills.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Desired Experience:Wireless networks experience (desirable). Minimum understanding of electrical schematics and installation (preferable). Knowledge mining operations (desirable). Experience with Trackless Mobile Machineries (desirable).Travel:Travel (regionally and globally international) to client sites is a requirement of this role.Decisions Expected:Own AuthoritySetting day-to-day priorities within overall priority listing.Make recommendations based on technical evaluations and customer interaction.Advising Supervisor of risk areas and business development opportunities.Referred to Higher AuthorityApproval of project deployment plans.Approval for expenditure.Any decision that will adversely affect the budget.
