Project Engineer (9 Month Contract)

The main duties of the role will be as follows:GENERAL:Take project over from current EngineerUnderstand the project and manage it according to contractual requirementsFull responsibility and accountability for successful project delivery, on behalf of the company.Company on-site representativeProvide single point of contact for all project stakeholdersEnsuring compliance to all site and legislative requirements including Labour, Environmental, Health & Safety etc. PROJECT ENGINEERING:Project budget and cash flow managementPreparation of adhoc project documentationSub-contractor enquiry preparation, adjudication input and contract managementDevelop and maintain project program, including sub-contractor programsDevelop technical specifications for work packages/equipmentRequest and evaluate proposals/quotes from suppliersReview of design documentation and drawings CONSTRUCTION:Complete on-site construction management, including commissioning, process acceptance testing support and training of plant operatorsSite establishment of all contractorsDetailed record of daily site activities, including site photosContractor management and co-ordination including work schedulesPlan, coordinate and communicate site activitiesQuality controlWeekly project progress preparation and reporting, including 1 week look back, 2 week look aheadNotifications, claims and variations preparationFAT attendance, if requiredSnag-list preparation and close outMaterials delivery scheduling and off-loadingPayment certificate authorisationAll project administration including site access, inductions and meeting minutesKnowledge of South African construction legislationIssuing site instructionsMaintain file saving and sharing structureSchedule meetingsEnsuring good housekeeping COMMISSIONING & PERFORMANCE TESTINGCold and hot commissioning, process acceptance testing support and training of plant operatorsCompiling Operation and Maintenance manuals, including a maintenance schedule.Site demobilisationMore specifically, applicants with the experience in the following areas will have an advantage:Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Plant project management experienceLogistics experience We are looking for an experienced candidate, able to deliver a successful project with limited management control. An incumbent with the following skill set would be advantageous:ReliableAbility to plan, organise and multitaskSelf-motivatedExcellent communication skillsDecisivePositive Minimum requirements:Proficient in MS ProjectEngineer with multidisciplinary experienceProject management experience in water & wastewaterAdvanced Computer skillsPassport and willingness to travel, if requiredAble to read drawings
