A leading multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join their team in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Key Responsibilities: · Lead the structural engineering department as part of a multi-disciplinary team. · Prepare detailed designs for reinforced concrete, steel, and timber structures. · Produce AutoCAD and Revit structural drawings and models, including reinforcement drawings and bending schedules. · Conduct site inspections and condition assessments for various structural projects. · Prepare reports for all stages of project implementation (inception, feasibility, design, tendering, and close-out). · Manage overall contract/project management, including client interaction, progress meetings, and handling contractual claims. · Supervise multi-disciplinary teams and junior staff. · Prepare tender documentation, including specification writing, bill of quantities, and drawings. · Oversee financial aspects of projects, including compiling invoices, cost estimates, and Bills of Quantities. Key Requirements: · B.Sc. or B.Eng. in Civil Engineering, specializing in Structural Engineering. · Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registered with ECSA. · Minimum of 15 years' relevant experience, with at least 5 years post-registration. · Advanced proficiency in: · AutoDesk AutoCAD & Revit (required) · Prokon (required) · Prokon SUMO modelling and Microsoft Projects (advantageous) · Revit reinforcement detailing and creating families (advantageous) · Knowledge of NHBRC rules and specifications (advantageous).
