Hybrid Gauteng based individuals onlySal R 1.2 million per annum3 Year ContractPurposeThe Senior Financial Inclusion Specialist will be responsible for providing strategic project and programme management support to the Financial Inclusion Programme Lead. The role requires a candidate with a deep understanding of financial inclusion, a proven track record in project management, and the ability to lead and mentor junior staff.Key Elements of role:Analyse South Africa's Financial Inclusion TrendsExecute and Oversee ProjectsCreate detailed plans for implementing projects, focusing on deliverables and deadlines.Provide oversight and direction throughout the project lifecycle.Track project progress to ensure it aligns with plans and budgets.Gather insights from project outcomes to guide future policy, legislative, and regulatory adjustments for sustaining initiatives.Contribute to Financial Inclusion DiscussionsBuild and Maintain Stakeholder Relationships: Develop strong connections with key stakeholders in South Africa, including policymakers, regulators, financial service providers, and donors.Assist with time management and expenditure tracking against project plans and budgets.Act as the link between the Project team, Data and Finance teams when required.The successful candidate will lead projects in these areas and may also handle additional tasks as needed.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIESA degree in finance, development finance, economics, project management or related fields.Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in financial inclusion, with a focus on project management.Understands market and systemic challenges to financial inclusion in Africa and best practices for addressing them, including M4P (Markets for the Poor) and facilitating market systems.Proven experience in leading and managing a team.Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.Excellent speaking, writing and interpersonal skills.Excellent research and report-writing skills.Experience with data analyses including demand side, supply side and regulatory data.In-depth knowledge of the financial services sector within the Southern African region.Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, and teamwork spirit with the ability to work independently or under minimum supervision.APPLICATIONSInterested applicants are requested to submit their CV and supporting cover letter to (Email Address Removed) or apply through the portal.
