A multinational agricultural company is seeking a dynamic Junior Process Engineer to develop, implement and optimise the Fill and Pack processes and production plans within their manufacturing plant in Brits, by leading the formulation and process teams with knowledge of chemistry and batch processes.Minimum Requirements For The RoleMust have a Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering disciplines or equivalent professional qualification1- 3 years' relevant experience in the chemical industry or a hazardous industrial facility is essentialPrevious maintenance and hands-on technical experience will be requiredDemonstrated understanding of operational process hazards is importantMicrosoft Office experience is essential, intermediate or expert level in Excel will be an advantageMust have a good understanding of batch formulation, filling and packing processesAn understanding of operation standard & efficiency to optimize resources to meet manufacturing objectives will be requiredMust have effective communication and management skillsMust be able to work different hours and shifts throughout the year (seasonal)The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible ForLeading the Formulation and or Fill and Pack teams with some knowledge of chemistry and batch processes.Providing day to day leadership and direction to a shift team, ensuring activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.Ensuring compliance with all safety, health, environmental, quality, maintenance, processing, efficiency and continuous improvement guidelines.Leading and developing Process Controllers, Operators, Learners and temporary staff (seasonals).Leading Root Cause Analysis and process safety investigations in the production environment.Ensuring safety observations are raised and improvements in the different plants are implemented.Optimising and continuously improving Production processes using continuous improvement methodology for monitoring of the installations.Driving and managing process designs and efficiency projects within the required plants.Driving and managing small multidisciplinary projects by using Continuous Improvement tools (OPEX).Gathering and analysing data to contribute to the Production department's OEE, down time, initiation of Hopper projects and Continuous Improvement.Taking full accountability for LOTO, PTW, PRA actions and WRA within the respective plants.Functioning as part of HSE committee, First Aiders and/or Firefighters team.Must be willing to be appointed as 8.2.i under section 8 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.Please note that subsequent to the screening and shortlisting process, all further communication will be entered into, only with the shortlisted candidates
