PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR – ALBERTON
Manage the entire production department as per group standard operating procedures to ensure optimal output is achieved on each machine type and the required quality is achieved on all orders.
Duties and Responsibilities:Implementing all standard operating procedures adopted by the companyManagement of staff requirements including logging of overtime and incentivesResolution of customer queries on ordersConfirming and verifying of full boards received - checking if the physical boards received are the same as the picking slip requestEnsure staff comply with health and safety regulations and enforce the use of PPEEnsure that output targets and requirements are met consistentlyQuality assurance on output received from each machineMaintenance checks on each machine type as per the guidelines providedEnsuring machines and areas around them are cleaned before lunch and COBTo troubleshoot and provide first-line support against guidance from the PBC Technical team when machinery goes downMaintain production schedule at least 2 days in advanceRegular updates of the production schedule with status updates minimum 4 times a dayDaily reporting – production output figures to be captured on the Branch Daily Production TrackerUpdating and maintaining the online production tracking systemPlan staff shifts and staff rotationPlanning overtime as required by the businessManagement of blades and consumables in the production departmentManagement of storage areas, trolleys, and general housekeepingMaintaining a lead time of 2-3 days on ordersAssisting in the Boards Warehouse as directed by the Branch ManagerSkills, Knowledge and Abilities:Computer Literate in Google Apps and MS Office (Excel, Word)Ability to motivate staff and create a positive environmentExperience in the woodworking industryExperience in a production environmentManagement of people - minimum 15 peopleAbility to work shifts and different hours as requiredTechnical skills on machinery would be advantageousMust be able to work under pressureEducation and Qualification:Grade 12 Qualification or equivalentMechanical or technical qualifications will be advantageousMinimum 2 years experience in a production supervisor/controller roleExperience in the woodworking industry will be advantageousMandatory Requirements:Minimum 2 years experience in staff management in a production environmentGrade 12 Qualification or equivalentAbility to read and write in EnglishGood physical health
