The Production/Manufacturing Engineer reports to the Executive Programme Manager and is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency, and ensuring the quality of products.
This role involves designing and implementing process improvements, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance overall manufacturing operations.
This role may require travelling to and working in environments with 'challenging' conditions.
Proficiency with design packages such as Solid Works / Catia will be an advantage Process Improvement and Optimization: Can you analyze and improve production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste?
Are you skilled in optimizing machine performance, cycle times, and throughput?
Do you have experience conducting time studies and process evaluations to identify areas for improvement?
Quality Assurance and Control: Can you ensure products meet quality standards and specifications?
Are you able to investigate and resolve quality issues?
Do you have experience implementing corrective and preventive actions to address quality concerns?
Technical Expertise and Support: Can you provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing equipment and processes?
Are you skilled in collaborating with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and uptime?
Do you have experience assisting in the selection, installation, and calibration of new machinery and tools?
Project Management Skills: Can you lead or participate in projects aimed at process improvements, equipment upgrades, or cost reduction?
Are you able to develop and manage project plans, including timelines, resources, and budgets?
Do you have experience monitoring project progress and ensuring timely completion within budget constraints?
Communication and Documentation: Are you proficient in maintaining accurate documentation of processes, procedures, and changes?
Can you prepare and present reports on production metrics, process improvements, and project status to management?
Do you have experience ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies?
Collaboration and Teamwork: Are you comfortable working closely with product development, design, and operations teams?
Can you facilitate communication between manufacturing and other departments to address production-related issues?
Are you able to train production staff on new processes, equipment, and best practices?
Qualifications & Experience needed: A tertiary qualification of BSc.
or BEng Mechanical -, Industrial- or Manufacturing Engineering At least 5 years' experience in a relevant engineering industry Previous experience in aircraft related engineering (preferable) Thorough understanding of aeronautical design principles and manufacturing processes
