Production Manager (Water/Nutrition/Pest And Disease)

Reference: 9711 CM Consultant: ChristaMostertJob Description:Manage and supervise the technical aspects of citrus production, including planting, irrigation, pest and disease control, and post-harvest handling.
Ensure compliance with local and international standards and regulations for food safety, quality, and sustainability.
Monitor and evaluate the performance and productivity of citrus orchards and implement improvement plans.
Provide technical advice and support to farmers, agronomists, and extension officers on best practices and new technologies for citrus cultivation.
Conduct research and trials on new varieties, rootstocks, fertilisers, and crop protection products.
Prepare and update technical reports, manuals, and training materials.
Liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as research institutes, suppliers, customers, and industry associations.
Max yield – Quantity – tons per hec
Max quality – Colour/Internals/Size/Blemish etc
Early Ripe
Design Water schedule, Nutritional and Pest & Disease programs
MRL / Biological
Data capturing - Collect data from technicians and input. Load onto system to allow for analysis.
Manage a team of +- 4 people consisting of a Water technician, Nutrition technician, Pest & disease technician.
Qualifications:A bachelor's degree or higher in agricultural science, horticulture, or a related field.
At least 5 years relevant experience in citrus production and management.
Knowledge of citrus physiology, agronomy, pathology, and entomology.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, GIS, and statistical software.
Work independently and as part of a team.
Fluency in English and Afrikaans.
