Minimum requirements for the role:Must have a relevant tertiary qualification related to manufacturing, quality, or engineeringMinimum 10+ years experience in FMCG manufacturing, ideally within cut vegetables, produce, and saladExperience in managing a production team producing vegetables/salads/flowers/fresh produce for top FMCG players in South Africa is advantageous; an understanding of the quality needed to supply these customers would be greatly beneficialStrong background in operational management and industrial engineering principles is essentialProven experience with lean manufacturing and driving continuous improvementDemonstrated ability to manage and report using KPIs effectivelyExtensive experience in managing teams with strong leadership and conflict-resolution skillsMust have a basic understanding of financial and costing reportsStrong computer literacy with advanced Excel skills is essentialThe successful candidate will be responsible for:Leading and managing the production team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.Implementing and driving lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.Monitoring and managing production KPIs to ensure targets are being achieved and reported accurately.Overseeing operational processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and optimizing workflows.Managing budgets and financial performance within the production department.Resolving team conflicts and maintaining a productive work environment.Ensuring compliance with safety, hygiene, and industry regulations.Please note that subsequent to the screening and shortlisting process, all further communication will be entered into, only with the shortlisted candidates
