Industrial Engineering qualification required Working in a production environment Experience in production planning Experienced with Syspro & SAP This is a new department; the successful candidate will need to start this department from the ground up, so experience and hard work is essential. This position is not going to be easy to implement, so we require a strong candidate who is not afraid of confrontation. Responsibilities: Inventory control: Use knowledge of the production process and inventory consumption to determine the economic order level, minimum, maximum, and average material rankings. Health and safety: Implement health and safety procedures to ensure the safety of team members and compliance with regulations. Production schedules: Build production schedules and make sure production processes stay within budgets and deadlines. Communication: Speak with many members of a company, from those on the production lines to executives. Forecasting: Accurately predict customer demand to align production activities and resource allocation to meet market needs. Manage and motivate production staff: Oversee the day-to-day workflow of production staff and manage supervisory production staff. Problem solving: Identify and resolve issues that arise during production quickly. Continuous improvement: Evaluate processes and recommend process changes to improve productivity, quality, and safety. Engineering coordination: Coordinate engineering, supervise production control functions and staff, review and analyze assembly and/or machine loading levels and production dates with distribution for the duration of the planning horizon, plan production based on published lead times and customer commitment dates, maintain production information for purpose of manpower planning, ensure accurate production reporting and an accurate plan, expedite high priority jobs and report on their plan, and review production for accuracy and adherence to production guidelines. Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of employees, including providing direction to and scheduling work of assigned staff. Demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving and multi-tasking skills. Applies continuous improvement skills such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean manufacturing, etc. to drive improvement. Engages direct reports to apply the same skills. Demonstrated reading, writing, presentation and interpersonal skills necessary to train, organize, and facilitate teams. Demonstrated communications skills, verbal and written and speaking. Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job functions of a leadership role.
