DESCRIPTIONAmazon is hiring a Senior Vendor Manager (SVM) to improve the experience for our customers in Africa. This role will work across various internal and external teams to evaluate the customer landscapes, and invent innovative approaches to solve ambiguous problems. If you are looking for an entrepreneurial role within a fast-paced, ambiguous and collaborative environment, please reach out for more info; then this is the position for you.Key job responsibilitiesThe SVM will be responsible for building relationships with vendors, adding selection, managing category profitability, optimizing pricing, and developing their team.The best candidate will have a broad skill set including leadership development, analytical horsepower, excellent business judgment, strong vendor management and negotiations skills, deep curiosity about how things work, and a passion for creating a world-class shopping experience for our customers.The position requires a leader who can work autonomously in a fast-paced, highly demanding and ambiguous environment.The successful candidate would possess great business judgment, with a track record of strong project delivery, commercial negotiations and relationship management along with deep analytical acumen.This position involves working with multiple stakeholders (marketing, marketplace, legal, supply chain, operations among others).BASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree5+ years of experience with business analysis, Buying and P&L managementVendor management, retail experience is a mustNegotiation Skills ExperiencePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExcellent presentation, organization and account management skillsExperience in account management, project or program management or buying experienceAble to prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentProject management skillsAbility to drive cross-functional initiatives influencing on competing prioritiesAmazon is an equal opportunities employer, and we value your passion to discover, invent, simplify and build.
