Role Purpose The purpose of the Product Data Team Lead role is to manage the Product Catalogues and all workflows and activities of the Data Team to ensure product images reflect the appropriate description, pricing, promotions and Xtra Savings Deals as well as to ensure that the correct and required information is displayed on the Shoprite/Checkers and Digital Commerce Apps.
Role Description Manage the Digital Product Catalogue and related operational outputs, requests and queries.
Perform product data analysis, competitor, market research and recommend product data management solutions to achieve customer experience and campaign objectives.
Develop and provide the parameters for enriching digital products with rich images, media and data.
Develop product data on all digital channels to ensure rich images and enriched product information drive conversion.
Manage and direct the workflow and activities of the digital product catalogue team, ensuring the team delivers within agreed frameworks and standards.
Liase with and manage product data vendors and 3rd parties to build rich customer facing product data and images.
Oversee the integrity and quality of all images, media and data uploaded and stored in the Digital Product Catalogue.
Manage, grow and develop team members to enable them to deliver results effectively and efficiently.
Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders to analyze and understand the required criteria and guidelines for digital catalogue and product enhancements.
Identify opportunities and champion process improvements and optimisation to support delivery of the teams objectives and goals.
Qualifications and Experience 3 year Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business, eCommerce or commensurate experience – (essential).
+5 years' experience in a similar capacity or role in a digital product catalogue or product content environment with extensive knowlegde and experience in PIM systems and eCommerce – (essential).
Experience managing a digital catalogue and product enrichment team – (essential).
Strong retail experience with a depth of understanding of digital engagement with the customer to build product attributes and faceting structures for product content – (essential).
Tech savvy with demonstrable experience working on product catalogue suites, platforms and software and using analytics and datasets to guide and inform decision-making – (essential).
Strong Proficiency in MS Office 365 – (essential).
