Job Description: Join our team as an experienced Procurement Officer who will be responsible for managing the procurement process for assigned categories, ensuring the acquisition of goods and services at the best possible price and quality. This role involves strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing and Procurement:
Develop and implement category strategies to achieve cost savings and value optimisation.Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess market trends.Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and audits.Resolve any supplier-related issues, including quality and delivery concerns.Contract Management: Negotiate and manage supplier contracts to ensure favourable terms and conditions.Monitor contract compliance and manage contract renewals and terminations.Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in all procurement activities.Cost Management:
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and value improvement.Monitor and report on procurement performance against budget.Implement cost-saving initiatives and track savings achieved.Process Improvement: Continuously improve procurement processes and systems.Implement best practices in procurement and supply chain management.Ensure efficient and effective procurement operations.Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities.Develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions.Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.Provide guidance and support to customers and procurement staff.Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives.Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on procurement activities and performance.Analyse data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.Present findings and recommendations to senior management.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is preferred.Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on strategic sourcing.Rail experience a strong advantage. Strong negotiation and contract management skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.Advantageous Syspro Experience or equivalent MRP/ERPExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organisational and time management skills.Personal Attributes: Results-oriented with a strong focus on achieving targets.High level of integrity and professionalism.Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.Adaptable and flexible to changing business needs.Salary:
