Our client is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Executive to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, who thrives on collaboration and optimising supply chain processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing procurement activities related to production planning, materials acquisition, quality control, and demand forecasting. This is a full-time position that requires international travel.
What you'll do:As a Procurement Executive, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of procurement activities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectivesIdentify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, capacity, and reliabilityNegotiate contracts and establish long-term partnerships with key suppliersDrive cost reduction initiatives across the supply chainImplement best practices in procurement, inventory management, and logisticsMonitor market trends and adjust sourcing strategies accordinglyConduct regular performance reviews and address any issues promptlyIdentify and assess supply chain risks (e.g., geopolitical, natural disasters)Monitor global events that may impact sourcing operationsDevelop and manage procurement budgetsWhat you bring:The ideal Procurement Executive candidate brings a wealth of experience in sourcing, supply chain management or materials management. You have strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings. Your excellent communication skills enable you to effectively manage stakeholders at all levels. You demonstrate proficiency in procurement software and data analytics tools. A Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain Management is required for this role; however, a Master's degree would be preferred.
