You'll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:Use feedback and reflection to develop self-awareness, personal strengths and address development areas.Delegate to others to provide stretch opportunities, coaching them to deliver results.Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems.Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends.Review your work and that of others for quality, accuracy and relevance.Know how and when to use tools available for a given situation and can explain the reasons for this choice.Seek and embrace opportunities which give exposure to different situations, environments and perspectives.Use straightforward communication, in a structured way, when influencing and connecting with others.Able to read situations and modify behavior to build quality relationships.Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.Tax Consultant Responsibilities:Focus on the unique tax considerations of nonprofits with a primary focus on income tax and a good understanding of VAT and PAYE matters specifically pertaining to the industry (60%) and general tax compliance and consulting for taxable private companies (40%).Audit of Tax:Collecting and considering tax and legal documentation to test compliance with tax exempt status conditions and the extent of the application of the exemption to different income streams.Tax Compliance for Non-profits:Consideration of eligibility for tax exemption and end-to-end application to the SARS Tax Exemption Unit; in-person attendance of meetings with the SARS Tax Exemption Unit in Pretoria to sort out outstanding, complex and/or urgent tax administration matters; preparation/review/consulting on and submission of IT12EI, IT3(d), and IT3(t) tax returns/declarations; consideration of legal compliance matters, consulting and communication with the client and SARS TEU on the impact of updates/changes on its tax status.Tax Consulting:Reviewing matters which may impact the tax status of an existing nonprofit and drafting tax opinions, applications for nonbinding tax opinions or SARS rulings; setting up new nonprofit entities, considering and consulting on matters which may affect the ongoing compliance of non-profits with their respective tax exemption conditions.Assignment Engagement and Completion Support:Preparation of proposals, statements of work, scoping documents, project plans, client acceptance documentation, collection and capturing of assignment documentation, preparation of reviewed documents for final sign-off and capturing of signed documents on client file (document system).Travel Requirements:Up to 20%Available for Work Visa Sponsorship?NoJob Posting End Date:December 31, 2024
