As the Principal Engineering Lead in Cape Town, you will review current practices within the engineering teams, understand business needs, and align teams to enable rapid delivery with minimal cross-team dependencies. Your key job responsibilities as the Principal Engineering Lead in Cape Town will include:
Co-develop the Technical Strategy with the Head of Technology and drive successful execution within the engineering teams.
Establish incremental steps to progress towards the desired architectural state, allowing for temporary concessions to maintain momentum.
Collaborate with the Project Management Office to ensure timely delivery of technology-driven projects.
Act as an ambassador for our client's culture, leading engineering teams respectfully and fostering a positive and innovative work environment.
Define a roadmap that aligns with both Business and Technical goals.
Transform our client into an elastic computing environment, working closely with the Head of IT to achieve this securely and cost-effectively.
Identify, compare, select, and implement technology solutions to meet current and future needs.
Oversee the design, development, and coding of new and current business systems.
Enforce technology standards and practices, focusing on SDLC, Architectural, and Information Security goals.
Align technology platforms with Business Service teams and strategies.
Optimize the use of technology products by embracing Group Tech Radar and Tech Adoption processes for opportunities of re-use or collaboration.
Track, analyze, and monitor technology performance metrics, creating a performance culture aligned with DORA metrics.
Manage all system design and architectural changes.
Stay updated on new trends and best practices in the technology landscape.
Requirements:
