The Plant Reliability Specialist will be accountable for reviewing the maintenance strategies, recommending modifications, and supporting site operational teams. He/Her will be responsible for defect elimination initiatives, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.Requirements:
Government Certificate of Compliance: GCCBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or relatedExperience as an appointed GMR2(1) on renewable energy power projects in Southern AfricaMinimum 10 years' work experience, including experience in the energy sector globally, with renewables and storage experience preferred.Extensive knowledge of Balance of Plant and electrical infrastructureStrong commercial judgment and technical acumen with strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities, with a strong focus on results and outcomes.Microsoft 365 Office: Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerpointIntercultural skills, ability to adapt and manage priorities, autonomy, teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving ability, budget and contracts, negotiation, curiosity
Duties:
Electrical/Reliability Engineering (Substations and Overhead Lines).Conduct failure mode and effect analysisEnsure compliance to General Machinery Regulations (GMR) for all operational plant and equipment.Conduct root cause analysis and recommend mitigating programs to improve performanceCreate and monitor life cycle operation and management plansProvide technical support to operational site teamsWork with maintenance teams to develop predictive and proactive maintenance strategies that improve equipment reliabilityFind recurring failures and perform root cause analysis to understand them and recommend corrective actionsProvide feedback to the project engineering team w.r.t lessons learn and return on experience for machine requirements and specifications.Provide support to project/operational teams to ensure asset utilization and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)Accept and implement the relevant legal appointments in terms of the OHS Act or equivalent regulations and legislationDesignated as GMR2(1) to ensure supervision and operation of machinery in terms of the relevant act.Track and manage key maintenance KPI's to ensure compliance to OEM and Company standards.Manage the organisational HV/MV operating regulations and plant safety regulations across all PlantsManage the organisational standardised Permit to Work system across all PlantsReview and ensure Plant Operating Plans for all Plants under his/her control are in place.Conduct frequent site visits and site audits to all operational sites.Reporting on O&M and reliability related issues to senior management
