Introduction
To develop, implement, control and revise/adjust all elements of merchandise planning to ensure profitability and sufficient servicing of stores.
Responsibilities:

Strategic planning
Production management
Sales and financial budgeting
Develop and implement Merchandise, Range, Stock and intake Planning
Analysing sales performance, stock and planned availability
Managing and developing Store Planner's

Minimum Requirements:

Preferably a relevant business diploma/degree (Retail business management/BCom/Clothing management/BScience/BA)
3-5 years planning experience
Extensive Retail knowledge
Technically strong merchandising skills
High attention to detail
Merchant and retail ability: demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the market place, competitors and customer needs
Knowledge of business IT systems (including Forecasting and Replenishment, RMS etc)
Knowledge of Product lead times to formulate a working critical path
Ability to formulate strategies and implement shorter-term tactical plans that are cost-effective, efficient, and realistic
Analytical and interpretative ability
Business acumen: an understanding of basic business processes and how sales are generated and the ability to achieve these goals
Computer literate: advanced Excel Skills and ability to operate in a Windows based environment
Assertiveness and influencing ability
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Results driven and proactive
Ability to work in a pressurised environment
