Pizza Chefs of All Levels (Commis, Demi-Chef de Partie, Chef de Partie)
Synopsis:
Our client is launching a new pizza restaurant and is looking for enthusiastic and skilled Pizza Chefs of all levels—Commis Chef, Demi-Chef de Partie, and Chef de Partie—to join their team. Job Description:
As a Pizza Chef at our client's new restaurant, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills and creativity in pizza-making. Depending on your level of experience, you will be responsible for various tasks ranging from assisting in dough preparation and cooking to managing kitchen operations and developing innovative pizza recipes. You will work closely with the Head Chef and other team members to ensure that every pizza served meets the restaurant's high standards for taste, quality, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Commis Chef:
Assist in preparing and cooking pizzas under the guidance of senior chefs, ensuring high standards of quality, flavor, and presentation.
Support dough preparation, including mixing, kneading, and portioning, while learning key techniques in fermentation and proofing.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pizza section, ensuring all equipment and tools are cleaned and ready for use during service.
Prepare ingredients for pizzas, slicing vegetables, meats, and cheese, ensuring everything is fresh and prepped according to the Head Chef's specifications.
Assist in monitoring stock levels and reducing waste.
Follow strict food safety and hygiene standards.
Support senior chefs during service to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of pizzas.
Demi-Chef de Partie:
Prepare and craft high-quality, artisanal pizzas using premium ingredients, ensuring consistency and excellence in taste, presentation, and quality.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and refine pizza recipes, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends while honoring authentic techniques.
Monitor stock levels, order ingredients as necessary, and adhere to cost control measures to minimize waste.
Maintain strict food hygiene and safety standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations and the restaurant's cleanliness standards.
Assist in managing kitchen operations during busy service periods, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery of orders.
Chef de Partie:
Prepare and cook artisanal pizzas to the highest standards, ensuring perfect dough, toppings, and baking techniques for every order.
Manage the pizza section of the kitchen, maintaining cleanliness, organization, and ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition.
Oversee dough preparation, including mixing, kneading, fermenting, and proofing, ensuring texture and flavor align with the restaurant's premium standards.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop innovative pizza recipes and menu items.
Ensure precise and timely service during busy periods, coordinating with other kitchen sections to deliver a seamless dining experience.
Mentor and guide junior staff, ensuring efficient and high-quality pizza production.
Requirements:
Culinary Certificate/Diploma.
Relevant experience in pizza-making:
Commis Chef:
Preferably 1-2 years of experience.
Demi-Chef de Partie:
Preferably 2-3 years of experience.
Chef de Partie:
Preferably 2-3 years of experience with expertise in pizza-making techniques, including dough preparation, proofing, stretching, and baking in wood-fired or specialty ovens.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
Creativity and passion for pizza-making, with a desire to innovate while honoring authentic techniques.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to mentor junior staff (for senior roles).
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, honesty, flexibility, and accountability.
Punctual, self-disciplined, and able to work flexible hours.
