The individual must follow strict patient identification policies including verification of specimen labels applied to patient samples. The Phlebotomist has continuous patient contact and is the laboratory's ambassador to our patients and must follow applicable organizational policies.JOB QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONFor positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.Minimum Required: High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred/Optional: Successful completion of a post-secondary medical terminology course.EXPERIENCEMinimum Required: NonePreferred/Optional: One year phlebotomy experience with venipuncture and capillary puncture. Knowledge of medical terminology or exposure to a medical environment.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSESThe following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.
