Join them in their journey to create meaningful experiences for both their team members and valued customers.Our client is recruiting for an experienced Perishables Supervisor to join their team based in Gugulethu, Cape Town.Job Purpose:Responsible for assisting in creating and maintaining a fully functioning, profitable Perishable Department and promoting excellent customer service and communication, including full management of the Perishable Staff.Responsibilities:Identify ideal stock levels per product categoryDetermine range per product categoryEvaluate ordering records per product category in relation to rate of saleConduct spot checks to ensure that KVI's are in stockMaintain ideal stock levels per categoryVerify orders and timing of ordersProcess returns dailyEvaluate all category damages daily and follow up with suppliers/merchandisersConduct spot checks on stock rotation dailyEnsure stock rotation from back-up store and areasMaintain Telxon Roster daily to ensure controls over Telxon usageEnsure that there is no expired stock on the floorTimeous and correct ordering of stockOptimize stock turns to improve cash flowResponsible for stock take figures and results weeklyVerify all orders with the Buyer including drop shipments, direct and warehouse ordersConduct spot checks on pricing across all categories to ensure accuracy is maintained and ensure discrepancies are rectified with GRV officeUpdate PLU's dailyIdentify stock that must be marked up or down and follow the procedure to do the adjustments accordinglyUse customer suggestions and complaints to guarantee that the needs of the customers are being metEnsure staff adheres to required customer serviceMeet and achieve budgets and targetsAssist in the hiring process of Merchandising StaffEnsure the staff is trained at all timesInduction and training of new staff membersScheduling of the staff, ensuring a standby list is in place in the event of absenteeismAddress performance and personnel issues in a timely mannerTake responsibility to meet the performance targets as set by Store/Senior ManagementAdhere to company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures ensuring staff complianceDaily management of staffEnsure attendance of staff is at the company level requiredSelf-disciplined and lead by example at all timesQualifications:Grade 12 (Matric)2 Years ExperienceSalary: Market relatedWorking Hours: Monday to Sunday (Shifts)Should you wish to apply for the position, please apply directly via this job board, ensuring that you quote reference number 202625 in the subject heading or email body.Surgo (Pty) Ltd will consider all applications in terms of its Employment Equity (EE) and is committed to maintaining diversity in its appointments.
